Delicious + Nutritious Caffeine-Free Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Is anyone else not over fall yet? I mean, I'm excited for the twinkly lights and the Nativity and all, but seriously-This season with its pumpkins and gorgeous colors and cool but not too cold weather and cider donuts and mums. So much happy right here. And especially the good coffee concoctions. Exhibit A: the pumpkin spice latte. The angels knew what we needed when they thought that one up. 

On that happy note: if you're a pregnant or breastfeeding mama who is mourning the loss of her coffee: mourn no longer. You can now enjoy your very own Pumpkin Spice Latte. Without coffee. And it’s completely delicious, caffeine free, gluten free, and a-lot-of-things-free.

What’s so great about dandelion?

Dandelion is the primary ingredient in Dandy Blend. Dandelion is high in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Vitamin B-6, and Magnesium. It’s also high in antioxidants, rich in fiber, and serves as a liver cleanser, among other great health benefits. Not only is there no guilt- dandelion is something you want to add to your diet, and now dandelion has also saved the coffee-loving day.

Does it really taste like coffee? 

About this. I am not a coffee aficionado. I personally love my coffee so sugared and creamed that it tastes like candy more than coffee. That said, if you are a pure and truecoffee lover, I recommend diluting your coffee and adding Dandy Blend incrementally until you can fully replace the coffee with Dandy Blend. If you start out with straight DB, you may not take to it. 


RECIPE: Coffee- Free Pumpkin Spice Latte

PREP TIME: 5 minutes


Dandy Blend (1-2 Tsp. Per Cup)

Half & Half or Lite Cream (Non-Dairy Creamer for a vegan option)

Pumpkin Spice Latte Syrup (recipe below) OR Buy some


Whipped Cream (Skip it for a vegan option)

Boil water and pour into your favorite mug. Add 1-2 heaping teaspoons Dandy Blend to taste, stirring well. Add creamer and PSL syrup, stir. Add whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon. Enjoy!


RECIPE: Pumpkin Spice Latte Syrup


2 C. water

1 C. sugar (preferably raw)

1/2 C. loose brown sugar

1 tsp. cinnamon or 4-5 cinnamon sticks

½ tsp. nutmeg 

½ tsp. ground ginger (optional)

A solid pinch of cloves

4 heaping tablespoons pumpkin puree

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Continue cooking over low/medium heat for an additional 5-6 minutes, stirring often. Don’t allow to boil. 

Tweak the ingredients to suit your needs, and enjoy your new coffee ritual!
